What’s Up
So, that’s me done travelling for the year. Maybe a wee break in December to somewhere for a long weekend, but nowhere that needs me to change time zones. I love going to SEE my friends, but I hate the actual trip to get there. Even worse? The trip to get BACK.
Still, I had an AWESOME time while I was in the US. It’s always awesome to see Jenn and Rhys. We’ve been friends for yeeeeeeears now, and we don’t get to hang out enough. I also got to meet so many cool people at GRL and World Con, spend a few hours tormenting C.S. Poe, and go on Porkapalooza 2019 with Bru Baker.
Of course, next year I start to roam about again. I wrote a bit on Love Bytes about my planned schedule - although there might be a few things to add in. Come the day. I am hoping to go the Writer’s Police Academy, but you know. Hope isn’t do!
Oh and Angel Martinez did an awesome reading from Swipe, which will be out from Dreamspinner on Dec 31st.
How cool is that?
Book Rec of the Week
2019 Advent Anthology
by Various
Well, Halloween is over and, since we don’t have Thanksgiving in the UK, that means that Christmas or the winter celebration of your choice is coming! I don’t know WHERE the year went personally, but you can’t argue with the calendar can you?
So if you are in the mood for a nice yule story to tide you over the holiday season? Check out Dreamspinner’s Advent Calendar. I know a lot of really cool writers, like C.S. Poe, Jenn Moffatt, Kim Fielding, and Andrew Grey among others, nailed some mistletoe to their computers this year.
You can pre-order the full now, or wait until the different stories are released by themselves in December.
Deal of the Week
Well, two days. Still, it is well worth it. Get $11.11 off all orders of $30 or more at Dreamspinner. Check out the bestsellers and upcoming books to see if there is anything you fancy.
Nice book shop! I will have to hunt it down next time I am in London.
This is too cute!
It might not be Halloween anymore, but I’m always into the creepy! And there’s not much creeper than this!
This is beautiful!
Must Read of the Week
I…cannot imagine? People complain about how social media and smart phones are destroying the world, but I’ve made some great friends and stay in touch with them THROUGH social media. Not to mention research for books, connecting to people about books, complaining with friends when people are weird or creepy.
