So Northern Ireland has been released from ‘Stay at Home’ orders and now we just have to ‘Stay Local’. HOPEFULLY people will be careful this time and not knock everything back again. Vaccines are going well here, but most people have only had one jab. So rampaging infection rates would be A Bad Thing.
This has changed nothing for me, so far. I might get a hair cut when things open again, I’m looking particularly unkempt at the moment! My fringe is reaching sheepdog length!
Dead Man’s Handle - Chapter Four
Enjoy chapter four of this free audio short, written by…well…me and narrated by the superlative Kale Williams. I love his rendition of Cook!
Pupdate

Negan is a hard character to get right, but JDM pulls it off. He blurs the line between swagger and a certain knowing performativeness with the character. It could have turned Negan into a caricature, but instead it is clearly a shell built of his own personality writ large to survive. So when that shell breaks to show something honest, or even a falsehood that he believes about himself, it is very potent.

Must Read of the Week
This is just a beautiful piece of writing.
Rita Hynes lugged her pregnant body up the rural hospital’s wooden steps. It was the night of December 7, 1962, and her rounded belly tightened with each contraction. At just 20, Rita knew what she was in for. She had given birth two years prior, to a girl. Rita wasn’t married then, so the priest from her Catholic fishing hamlet on the southern coast of Newfoundland had snatched the infant from her arms and slapped Rita across the face. The baby would be raised by an aunt and uncle.
Me: I have no idea who Brenda Song is. She kinda looks like yer actress from the Suite Life.
*Looks Brenda Song up on IMDB*
Oh! She is yer actress from the Suite Life…AND she’s in Station 19!
(I am far too proud of myself for almost being informed.)
