What’s Up
It’s Halloween - sorta, almost, close enough - so frankly I’m not going to do an ACTUAL newsletter this week. Instead I’ll do a quick WHAT’S UP about me and then just spam the Halloween joy.
So first of all I am doing a Cover Reveal on November 3 at Boy Meets Boy for Prodigal. Prodigal by TA Moore will be out from Dreamspinner Press on 11 Feb 2020.
I am also sorting out a blog tour for Swipe which is out on the 31st December. So once that is finalized I’ll let you know when it will be (end of December, obviously, but the exact dates and locations).
This week I am heading down to Los Angeles with Bru Baker and Rhys Ford to go to World Fantasy Con. I’ll be on three panels, including one where I’ll be moderated by BARBARA HAMBLY! Or Barbara FREAKING Hambly, to give her full title and due respect.
Little bit excited, in case you can’t tell :D.
Bru and I are also looking forward to eating ALL THE PORK that LA can provide. Our first stop is going to be at Belly and Snout on our way into the city on Wednesday, so look forward to pictures of that! #bellynsnout or #bellyandsnout.
Now, on to Halloween.
Book Rec of the Week
In the mood for some thrills and chills? Check out Devil Take Me, a devilish anthology from Rhys Ford, Ginn Hale, Jordan L. Hawk, C.S Poe, Jordan Castillo Price, and TA Moore.
Devil Take Me
Temptation lurks around every corner in worlds sometimes dark, sometimes lurid. Giving in is both dangerous and satisfying, though never in the ways one expects. While these enticements offer a vast range of benefits and boons, the cost is a soul and the devil expects his due. Sometimes suave and charming or calculating and cruel, these devils have schemes and desires of their own. They can be creatures to run away from… or toward.
Join the most unique and celebrated authors of LGBT urban fantasy and paranormal fiction for a fast-paced and unpredictable ride, from a city on the other side of reality, to a world suspended in dusk, to a twisted version of the 1960s and 70s.
Meet devils in top hats and waistcoats, a defrocked motorcycle-riding priest, and a genderfluid antihero—among many more. Full of humor, romance, horror, action, intrigue, and magic, these stories have one common element….
They’re one hell of a good time.
Supernatural brings the creepy year round, so it seems harsh not to let it in on the Halloween fun. Especially since Lucifer is my favorite and - fingers crossed - I expect him back this year!
This is why dogs are never horror movie stars. And don’t come at me with Cujo. Cujo was tragic.
Songs that only get creepier song by a child.
I can just about put eyeshadow on, so never going to achieve this look for myself. Nice to pretend though!
This would probably be my take on it. It’s pretty cool, for a strung up Groot god.
Rewatched this the other night. Still the best.
I love this, they’re ridiculously cute…and wildly morbid.
Oh look, spiders and pumpkins. Together at last!
